Valentina Formisano
BIO
Valentina Formisano, born in 1987 in Naples (Italy), moved with her
family in Macerata (in the middle of the east coast of the country) in
1998 where she started studying art. Since the early youth the artistic rewards start to come. In 2006 finished the Art High School graduating with the maximum grade, 100/100 cum laude. In the same year starts studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Macerata in the Painting course. In 2010 she won the 3rd prize in her first etching competition. Actually, after many rewards with painting, illustration and comic, she approach for the first time the world of the engraving. In 2011 won a scholarship as at the “Premio Jesus Nuñez 2011”
with an engraving that is now part of the permanent collection of the
Fundaciòn CIEC (Betanzos, A Coruña, Spain) that promoted the
competition. 2 months later she won the “National Prize of Arts”
in Graphic, an important Italian reward for the students of all
Academies of Art, Music and Dance. In 2011 she earn a three year University degree with the maximum grade, 110/110 cum laude and starts the biennal course of specialization in Graphic Art course in the section of Etching.
In 2012 she moved to Spain to study lithography with the scholarship
got by Fundaciòn CIEC for 2 months. In 2013 she earn the specialist degree in Graphic Art with the maximum grade, 110/110 cum laude and the mention for the publication of the thesis. In June 2013 she won the 1st prize at the competition “Vision&Co” that consists in a scholarship to the Academy of Fashion and Costume of Naples with a mini fashion collection inspired on anatomy.
