Art means spiritual journey, quest, expression, communication but most of all, it means participation in the agony of life in human societies; participation in a life that goes on through dangers, attacks, defenses, victories, defeats, without deep reflections and philosophical wanderings for the causes and the reality of things.

Therefore I work in the field of interdisciplinary approaches and at the same time in the social space. I express my restless effort to gain knowledge and self-awareness. I research and I experience the unique feeling of superiority of the human being, which in the one hand reaches theosis through its scientific and technological achievements and on the other hand is threatened with extinction. At the same time, I explore the limitations between me/us and the others in the society, the invasion in the forbidden places, the value of life, the merciless punishment of wrongdoers.

I use scientific methods, digital fingerprints, semiotic and conceptual theories, but also installations with natural materials as cloths, barbed wires, water etc. I use the web and the social media but I also organize activist events and performances in real spaces.

HUMANFUNGI (detail) 2008. Visual fantasy of my infected living space and planetary environment. Τhe project was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Biology, Section of Ecology and Classification, of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. The fungi which were cultivated belong to the Kingdom of Fungi, are greek and a product of a series of isolations performed by the group for fungi research of the Department of Biology of the University of Athensand have been submitted at the ATHUM. World Water Museum installation. 2011. The "World Water Museum" installation by Keti Haliori focuses to alert people on the challenges of clear, potable water on the planet. It approaches surrealistically the vast environmental problem, presenting water as "museum item". The installation is constructed gradually through the participations of the volunteers who send samples from rivers and lakes. The samples are chemically analysed, therefore to each one a special identity is assigned, then are safely kept in laboratory vials. A portion of each sample is mixed with portions of all the others, in a separate vessel, to symbolically increase the "Earth water" level. The development and evolution of the project will be updated regularly on the website www.worlwatermuseum.com/ so that those participating and interested in the project can be informed. ©Keti Haliori

Keti Haliori is a new media artist living and working in Athens, Greece. She creates interdisciplinary projects, concerning evolution, divine, cosmic information and consciousness, but also deals with humanitarian and environmental issues. During the years 2008–2010, she made public actions and installations and she protested at the entrance gates-host, for refugees who survived or killed in the shipwrecks or minefields. Since 2011 she founded the "World Water Museum" and creates and curates water projects.
